"In 2020, I committed to modernize the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office by improving critical issues in law enforcement services, operations, staffing and training. With the dedicated efforts and hard work of the entire ECSO team, these priorities have been achieved. The citizens of Edgefield County can see a visible and active presence of law enforcement throughout the county, Resource Officers are present in every school, communications and technology upgrades are on track and officer training and equipment have been dynamically improved to deliver professional law enforcement services. Our Detention and Jail operations await completion of the law enforcement center later this year to add another key modernization to our services." - Sheriff Rowland

Jody Rowland grew up in Edgefield County and has worked the majority of his law enforcement career with the Edgefield and Aiken County Sheriffs’ Offices.
